Rates - Fee Schedule

Appraisal rates vary depending on the situation and what is actually needed. 

 

 

 

·   Full Summary Appraisal Report – $400.   A summary appraisal report includes extensive research on the horses background, bloodlines, riding discipline, show record, and foal records.  A comparable analysis is used to determine the fair market value. These reports are bound and admissible in a court of law. Mileage cost and inspection - $100 per hour – 2 hour minimum this in addition to the initial appraisal fee.

·   Retainer Fee - $1,000 up- front and non-refundable (to be paid weekly if retainer time is used up).

·   Expert witness and/or court testimony - $250 per hour - 2 hour minimum.  All expenses (hotel, travel and food, etc. must also be covered and is in addition to this fee].

·   Depositions - $250 per hour; $1,500 per day.

·   Research related to a case, additional analysis or deposition review - $100 per hour.

 

Complex Appraisals or multiple horses prices can be negotiated.

 

A deposit of ½ down or $200 is required to begin a summary appraisal.  Final payment is required before the report can be sent.  Appraisals requiring a rush job (less than two weeks) and appraisals involving a divorce must be paid up-front and in full.  Normal time required for a full summary appraisal is 3-4 weeks from receipt of pertinent information and deposit.

Current Market Value: This is the highest price, estimated in terms of money that an informed buyer would pay for a particular horse on any given day.  This is based on the opinion of the appraiser and information that is evaluated in order to come up with the fair market value of the horse(s).
